Fly Control

At Sunshine Coast Pest Control Ltd in line with I.P.M. regulations we offer five different fly control solutions:

Deep Cleaning

PESTICIDE FREE SOLUTION -  ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE

Sanitation is the key to good fly control.

A thorough cleaning of all areas of a kitchen, concentrating on the requirements flies needs for breeding i.e. food and moisture is the key to reducing flies.

Our technicians at Sunshine Coast Pest Control Ltd are trained to provide provide consultations to kitchen staff and management into how to eliminate areas of poor sanitation.  They will report all leaking taps, the build up of food under/along side or behind kitchen equipment.

If you do not have the staff, motivation or time to carry out a deep clean then we can supply the technician to complete the task for you.

Sealing interior and exterior cracks

PESTICIDE FREE SOLUTION -  ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE

If you are having a problem with cluster flies emerging from cracks around your south facing windows then we would recommend sealing all interior and exterior cracks and crevices using a good quality caulk.

We have carried this out for numerous customers with great results. Care is taken to choose the correct colour of caulk, so that the results are ascetically pleasing as well as functional.

Even the hardest too reach areas are never a problem and can be caulked safely using the correct ladders, staging and safely equipment.

Non-Poisonous Fly Traps

PESTICIDE FREE SOLUTION -  ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE

Our retail office in Wilson Creek and our technicians carry a number of Non-Poisonous products developed to control different types of flies:

The adult fruit fly population can be reduced using the Pherotech Fruit Fly Trap. We consider that this is only interim relief, whilst we work with the home owner to locate the food source that is attracting the fruit flies. The trap uses a pesticide free lure to attract the adult fruit flies, who are caught on the sticky board inside the trap. Additional lures are available and the lure should be replaced after 4-5 days. The glue board should be replaced once full.

For fly control outdoors on the deck or patio, the Pherotech Outdoor Fly Trap is an option. The trap uses a pesticide free lure to attract the adult flies, who are caught in the liquid in the bottom of the trap. Additional lures are available and the lure should be replaced after 10 days.

Electric Fly Lights

PESTICIDE FREE SOLUTION -  ENVIRONMENTALLY RESPONSIBLE

In a commercial business such as a restaurant or food shop there is a zero tolerance for flies. In these cases an electric fly light positioned correctly (so as not to attract flies from outside into the building) is the best long term solution.

Fly lights are also available to buy or rent on a monthly basis from us at Sunshine Coast Pest Control Ltd, for commercial and residential use.

Chemical intervention

For a small number of customers the injury level for flies is very low and a spray treatment using a registered pesticide may be necessary in a crawl space or attic. Not all pesticides are registered for fly control, so it is important that you request fly control when booking any interior treatment.
